Instructions on possible violation of ethics, guidelines for corrections and retractions

Our publication “Comunicación y Hombre” aims to maintain strict guidelines for the prosecution of ethics violations, as well as to comply with any corrections and retractions that may be generated.
To this end, clear and concise instructions are given on what to do in the event of a possible violation of ethics, correction of errors or opportunity for retraction:

  • Detection of the violation
  • Receipt of the complaint through the channels published on the website: emails
  •  Preparation of a report by the Journal’s management
  • Urgent meeting of the Journal’s Management and Ethics CommitteeStudy of the case and decision of measures to be taken
  •  Implementation of agreed measures

The measures that can be taken according to the complaints and parties involved would be:

a) Articles whose contents, unnoticed by the Management, Evaluators and Publication Committees, violate the ethical criteria of the Journal; they would lead to the withdrawal of an article, its correction and/or an explicit public retraction by the author.
b) Authors who for some reason, unnoticed by the Management, Evaluators and Publication Committees, violate the ethical criteria of the Journal; this would lead to the withdrawal of the article and an explicit public retraction by the Management of the Journal.
c) Members of the Journal who, for any reason, unnoticed by the Management, Evaluators and Publication Committees, violate the ethical criteria of the Journal; this would lead to the withdrawal of the article and an explicit public retraction by the Management of the Journal.

The following are understood to be violations of the ethical criteria of Communication and Man: any type of plagiarism, scientific fraud, invention, falsification of data, impersonation, falsification of personal and academic curricular data provided to the Journal, collaboration in illicit activities considered illegal and prosecuted by law, and any participation that violates human rights, the dignity of the person or that imply a distancing of the only purpose of the “Revista Comunicación y Hombre” that is to make known the scientific research for the progress and the social improvement, the knowledge, the search of the truth, without any profit spirit, with absolute vocation of service.
