This article argues for a framework of Ethical-Digital Literacy that integrates digital capital
with the core principles and values of digital ethics, specifically equity, respect, and dignity,
to enhance digital communication in Mexico. It critically reviews recent sources to define the
state of the art and proposes an ethical stance for digital communication and social media. By
positioning ICTs and artificial intelligence as tools serving human dignity and well-being, the
article contributes a concrete ethical perspective to the communication field.
