Does clandestine radio have a future?

21th november 2016
21th december 2016

Abstract

The article is based on the multiple transformations currently experienced by the media in general, and radio in particular, to ask the question of whether clandestine radio broadcasting is still a live, useful, necessary radio cathegory or, on the contrary, it belongs to the past. The author opts for the first hypothesis. To explain its position, he analyzes the main characteristics of clandestine broadcasting, compares the political and technical circumstances in which it was born with the current ones, and outlines some possible transformations that will affect this genre in the coming years.
