Abstract
Precision journalism is a speciality, half way between investigative journalism and science scientific journalism, which enables the media to provide more and better attention to important issues, using appropriate methods to quantify and to show the public the magnitude of these problems. It helps that journalists can give the necessary attention to the statistical quantification of the social or political reality and realize that the job of statistics scientists and sociologists can be news of the first magnitude. Precision journalism is the application of scientific methods of social and behavioural research to the practice of journalism.
