Social Networking in Journalism: how do key European media use their profiles on Twitter and Facebook?

27th april 2014

Abstract

This research analyses how leading European media and their online audiences introduce themselves and use Facebook and Twitter, now that the social media is transforming the relation between those actors. It is a comparative analysis based on the type of support (press, radio, television and pure players). The methodology is the content analysis of their profiles in those social media during two months of 2013. Diffusion of information is the prior function in every support. The press and its community are those who use both platforms in a most intensive and effective way.
