Spanish newspapers in the last period of franquismo. New press law consequences

Abstract

In 1962 the arrival of Manuel Fraga at the Information and Tourism Ministery predicts a point of inflection to the Spanish press in the last period of franquismo. The approval in 1966 of the Press Law is a piece of fresh air that cleans the odd informative atmosphere at that time. From that point the Spanish newspapers enjoy a certain information autonomy that, without being a complete information freedom, means the beginning of a critical and compromised informative walk, seed of the free and democratic current press.
