Abstract
It is not unusual to approach the study of communication considering it as an epiphenomenon of social dynamics. Such approach seems inadequate, and, besides, communication shows itself to be a basic category of human sociality. This text explores the deep relations between diverse communication forms and social change, and at the same time it presents some paradigmatic examples.
