Abstract
Gender-based violence is the first reason of death among women between 14 and 45 years old in Europe. Public powers have changed their laws to punish in an even more severity way men who abuse of woman. But society asks the media an essential role in this kind of violence; educate in order to prevent. The informative processing of news related with gender violence must mean a constant denunciation of woman´s situation, a contempt of practices of those men who ill-treat woman, and an ethic commitment with the rigour and the truth when the time came to inform.
