Abstract
The end of the modern culture coincides in the 20th century with the emergence of a new public space formed from the mass media. The media ecosystem turns into privileged place where to detect the indicators of the social change. The situation invites to check the function that corresponds to the public communication. It is necessary to reflect about its character of mediation and its active character. This way could to indicate the keys to interpret the representative function, in a moment in which the social trends indicate offers for a change of epoch.
