Spain wins the football World Cup 2010. The victory from the point of view of the Spanish press: sports and extra sports aspects

Abstract

Last July 11, 2010 was the first time in history that the Spanish football team was proclaimed champion of the Football World Cup 2010. The repercussion of the victory in the mass media was enormous all over the world but specially in Spain. This study is focused on a concrete way: the victory from the point of view of the Spanish press in the main newspapers of general information –El País and El Mundo– and the four most read sports newspapers: Marca, As, Mundo Deportivo and Sport.
