Abstract

This article deepens in Maritain’s philosophy as an answer to the challenges raised by current society and its educative problematic. It is structured in four sections: the first section presents a simple definition of humanism that puts the human person’s problematic and its dignity in a major place. It later examines the position that Maritain adopts about these questions .On this base the idea of education conceived as “humanization” is sustained, which takes care of the personal aims of the educative process as well as the social aims. Finally, it aims at the core on which a key personalist education has to be developed.
