Comunicación y Hombre makes public the latest data for 2023; as of 2019, it makes public some of the journal’s metrics; that is, some tables where the values of aspects that reflect the measurement of its scientific quality appear. These are the latest data for 2023:
In the latest issue of the journal published in January 2023, 70% of the authors are international, 65% of the participating universities are foreign.
In total, this issue includes 13 articles, related to the theme: media, manipulation and use of fear. There are 6 articles on other subjects. The main theme is approached from different areas of study: political communication, disinformation, the covid-19 pandemic, psychology, society, journalism, cinema and manipulation.
The editorial and scientific committee of the journal Comunicación y Hombre has a total of 135 members, 110 of whom are external and 67 of whom are international. Regarding the evaluators, 53 out of a total of 64 are external. Between committees and evaluators we have a total of 199 members, of which 163 are external. Therefore, approximately 80% of the members are external.
In 2023, Comunicación y Hombre obtained the Quality Seal for Spanish Scientific Journals, from FECYT (Fundación Española para la Ciencia y Tecnología) of the Ministry of Science and Research. This distinction identifies Spanish scientific journals that meet internationally recognized professionalization requirements.

The international index ESCI (Emerging Source Index) has included Comunicación y Hombre in its ranking, after analysis of its Publication Standards, Ethical Publication Practices and editorial content among others In 2018, the journal passed the evaluation criteria for WOS (Web of Science), and is included in the ranking from 2021 in Q4. The journal entered JCR in 2023 in Q4.

In the ranking conducted in 2023 by REDIB (Red Iberoamericana de Innovación y Conocimiento Científico), Comunicación y Hombre is ranked 223 out of a total of 1199 publications; being since 2020 in Q2. In the 2023 MIAR (Matriz de Información para el Análisis de Revistas Científicas) database, updated annually the data collection of Comunicación y Hombre has obtained an ICDS (Índice Compuesto de Difusión Secundaria) of 9.7 out of 11 in 2021. This indicator shows the visibility of the journal in different scientific databases of international scope and in repertoires of periodical evaluations.
As of 2022, MIAR studies only the presence of the journal in four categories of sources used:

DICE (Difusión de Calidad Editorial de las Revistas Españolas de Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales y Jurídicas) aims to facilitate knowledge and consultation of some of the editorial characteristics and indirect indicators of quality of Spanish journals in the Humanities and Social Sciences.

DICE is the result of a collaboration agreement between the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and the Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación (ANECA), which finances its maintenance. It is a tool created by the Grupo de Investigación Evaluación de publicaciones científicas en Ciencias Sociales y Humanas (EPUC) of the Instituto de Estudios Documentales sobre Ciencia y Tecnología (IEDCYT) of the Center for Human and Social Sciences (CCHS) of the CSIC.
ANECA uses this database as a reference for the quality of Spanish publications in its faculty evaluation processes. The EPUC group reminds publishers that sending the new issues of each journal to this group is essential for the information in DICE to be updated.

According to the information system that integrates quality indicators for Spanish scientific journals in Social Sciences and Humanities, RESH (Revistas Españolas de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades) in 2023:
The journal Comunicación y Hombre meets 34 quality criteria out of 38 from LATINDEX. In addition, the journal meets 15 criteria out of 22 from ANECA, and 13 out of 18 quality criteria from CNEAI.
However, some of these indicators will have an improvement given the recent progress made by the journal in recent months.

Regarding citations in GOOGLE SCHOLAR, the journal obtains an h5 Index of 9 and h5 Median of 14. The impact index is the h5 indicator, i.e. the number of citations collected through the Google Scholar Metrics tool, which relates the articles published in the last 5 years with the number of citations received.
