Culture internationalization and business ethics

28th march 2017

Abstract

The internationalization actions of organizations have exposed the importance of knowledge of the cultural environment to promote good business management. Traditionally, academic literature has focused on studying internationalization actions from the perspective of corporate governance, in order to find an optimal system that reduces the costs of the agency problem. However, the cultural issue has a much broader impact on people management in organizations. An example of this is the implementation of ethics and corporate social responsibility. This article intends to highlight, from a theoretical approach, the importance of rethinking the paradigm of study of internationalization actions with an approach less based on principles of self-interest and more focused on the implementation of business ethics, through organizational culture, with a solid anthropological foundation.
